Edexcel


Edexcel was formed in 1996 by the merger of two well-respected bodies, BTEC (the Business & Technology Education Council) and ULEAC (the University of London Examinations and Assessment Council). Both were leaders in their respective fields of academic and vocational qualifications. Now Edexcel provides a very wide range of qualifications to cater for all needs and learning styles.

Edexcel are organised to allow focus on our key customer markets: Schools; Further Education Colleges, Higher Education Institutions, Employer organisations, Training Providers. In the PaperWorks project Pearson will:

  • develop novel publications using innovative designs and presentation
  • be a site for data collection regarding content provider practices
  • collect and make available content
  • use and test authoring tools developed in the project;
  • designing an augmented publication (both paper and digital content);
  • collaborate in the design of a augmented paper application (e.g. identifying user groups, interaction techniques and presentation styles);
  • assist in an assessment with sample users, and collaborate on the development of an exploitation strategy and associated business models.

Participation in the PaperWorks project will be carried out by the following individuals as well as Edexcel Senior Assessment Colleagues with assessment expertise to look at assessment based applications.
